Another casualty of the puppy....

Jake's favorite hat, with Phlex's autograph, got mauled by Gunnar last night. Its hard to remember he really is just a baby (7 months old) no matter how BIG he is.

The hat must have falled off the peg and on to the floor. Gunnar looks in that area for the socks DH leaves in his sneakers. (yummy stinky socks!)

Jake is pretty bummed. We went through the hat collection and picked another Phantoms hat to wear, but Jake is still sad.

Time just zips by............

Its hard to believe we have only had Gunnar a few months. He has grown so fast and already weighs more than Jake.
I was able to squeeze a vinal pool into the trunk of my car and the boys absolutely lost their minds! They both had a blast, jumping in and out of the water. Splashing, screaming and having a good time. Well, Jake was screaming. Gunnar was barking and trying to eat the water. Now if the pool is empty, Gunnar still jumps in and runs around looking for a puddle to splash!
Jake asks every day if he can go "swimming"!

The New Baby!

Life has been a little crazy at Chez Pizza! We brought a new addition home on April 15th and have been having too much fun to post!
Everybody, this is Gunnar. Gunnar likes Jake, Cheerios and gasp, wool. Yup, I have had to move the yarn basket since the furry one will help himself to items in his reach. He has run off with more than one project in the 3+ weeks he has been here so far... sigh. Puppy kinergarden starts this Saturday! I'm sure he will do well, since he is so smart!

Shopping with a 4 yr old.

We went to Walmart yesterday to pick up some spring/summer PJ's for Jake. While we were there, I decided to look around the women's lingerie and see if I can find a new white bra. Jake takes one look and the wall of bras and loudly exclaimes
"But MOM, you already got those!"
"Yes, but I need another one"
"Another one? but you already gots those"
"I know"
"But who's these for?"
"For Mommies"
"Mommies like you?"
"just like me"

And on it goes....

First Contact

We went to Pine Hill and picked this guy out to come home with us! He is only6 weeks old
so won't able to officaly come home with us till Easter weekend. I don't know who is more excited, Me, DH or Jake! We still have not decided on a name but I have a list!

Visiting for 2 weeks...

We have been dog sitting for a friend this week and Jake is totally in LOVE. He tells me "Mommy, I love him in my heart!" "Do you love him in your heart?"
"Yes, Jake I love him and I love YOU With all my heart"

A difference in Woobies

Jake has a couple of these little "woobies". 2 yellow, 2 blue. They confort him to sleep and just make him happy. I don't care if he takes these to college, I'm just happy we got rid of the "binky". (another story)

The other night he notices for the first time (in 4 years) that the tag on one of the woobies is "backwards"
"Hey Mommy, this woobie is backwards! Can you fix it?"
"No Jake. It is supposed to be that way, its the way they sewed it"
"But Why?"
"Because the little boy was talking and distracted his Mommy and she sewed it that way"
"But why?"
"Because he kept talking and she put it on the wrong way"
"Backwards?"
"yes"
"A litttle boy like me?"
"Yes, JUST like you"

a one track mind

Wonder where he gets it from?

Earlier in the week Jake was sick and had a fever. He is on the couch and I'm wiping him down with a damp cloth to break the fever and he gets angry with me! You know, crying and complaining.....
I say "I know, poor Jakie, you're just Out of Sorts with the fever"....
He says "SWORDS!?? Who has swords?"
Only a little boy.......

Another thing that came up while we were breaking the fever and watching Cartoon Network, The Pink Panther. Only according to Jake, its the pink Hamster. And you cannot tell him any different.
